A Photo A Day Week 46

[315] Monday 14 September 2010: My afternoon job was cancelled so Donnie and I went on a lovely date to see Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (HI-larious) and eat pizza at Fritti (DE-licious).

[316] Tuesday 15 September 2010: The commiseration of Sophia's visa denial continues with Guinness, ice cream and pie. Ahh, the sacrifices I make for my friends.
[317] Wednesday 16 September 2010: I bought brother a porcelain travel mug and looked for random things around the house to fill in the spaces of the shoebox I sent it in. Magic erasers, a recipe, cards, tea and a can opener.
[318] Thursday 17 September 2010: Everything you see here (except the table and chairs) fit into that ginormous bag Mandi made me. It was time for a cleansing.
[319] Friday 18 September 2010: I went to this lake, upon which there is a Starbucks, to enjoy a chai latte and The Corrections while I waited for job #2 to start.[320] Saturday 19 September 2010: After a day of tubing on the Chattahoochee and an evening of Aziz Ansari the twins and I hoofed it to Gladys Knight's place for chicken and waffles.

[321] Sunday 20 September 2010: Rosebud for brunch. Mmmm. Also, Donnie found perhaps the best ad I've ever seen in Atlanta, for the best brewery in Michigan. The copy reads: For those who choose restaurants by their tap handles. Yes.

A Photo A Day Week 45

[308] Monday 6 September 2010: Coming soon to a mailbox near you!

[309] Tuesday 7 September 2010: I cast around for something in my house I hadn't photographed and realized the inside of the fridge hadn't made it onto the internet yet. So here it is! [310] Wednesday 8 September 2010: No choir tonight which made a trip to the local farmers' market possible. Mmm, the last of the summer tomatoes.

[311] Thursday 9 September 2010: This is what our classroom typically looks like at the end of a day when we were too engaged in playing to clean up. I love it. And it doesn't actually take that much time to clean it up.
[312] Friday 10 September 2010: Willie Maize desperately needed a car wash after carrying us for 3,000+ miles in two weeks. Also, bubbles!
[313] Saturday 11 September 2010: Sophia's Scottish visa was denied so Laura and I brought the commiserating. Russian chocolate, vegan ice cream, movies and colouring. I guess it worked out, she got her visa and is leaving for Scotland in 3 hours! We also commemorated this day by sharing our "where were you on 9/11/01" stories.
[314] Sunday 12 September 2010: I forgot to take a picture so Donnie took this one from the couch where we were snuggling. High quality.

A Photo A Day Week 44: Back to Real Life Edition

[301] Monday 30 August 2010: Back to school!
[302] Tuesday 31 August 2010: Donnie's reading the postcards I sent him from our honeymoon.
[303] Wednesday 1 September 2010: Back to choir!

[304] Thursday 2 September 2010: We're officially married for realz according to the state of Georgia.
[305] Friday 3 September 2010: I got to spend time with my best friend under 4, his dog Elfonso and his new puppy, the soon to be named (minutes from when this photo was taken) Ketchup the Nugget.
[306] Saturday 4 September 2010: After the chicken-carcass-left-in-the-indoor-garbage-can-and-subsequent-maggot-infestation incident of 2010 we bought a shiny new grown up garbage can that would make Oscar proud. Oh, and Happy Birthday, Mama!
[307] Sunday 5 September 2010: Donnie and Ketchup the Nugget get along famously. Also all of the other pictures I took on this, the day before labour day, are not suitable for public consumption due to the fact that Laura was mixing up margaritas. Nuff said.

A Photo A Day Week 43: Honeymoon Edition!

We drove through 2 countries and 11 states on our honeymoon. We met 1 president and stayed with 2 sets of great friends (both in Massachusetts) and their adorable children. We ate so much good food and took many pictures which will likely make it to facebook one of these days. For now here are some pictures of the two of us some of the things we saw on our trip.

[294] Monday 23 August 2010: We made an unwritten rule not to eat anywhere with more than 20 tables and to jump at any opportunity for local, weird, and wonderful establishments, particularly at breakfast. This was the first of those in East Syracuse, NY.

[295] Tuesday 24 August 2010: This was the most delicious pie I have ever eaten. It was made my mom's long and dear friend Renee and eaten within 36 hours of being in our possession. It was an amazing wedding present. We finished it in Mark's apartment in Jamaica Plains, Boston, MA
[296] Wednesday 25 August 2010: This is a picture of Barack Obama, taken by my husband just before he chided the President about his White Sox cap. This was in Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard in MA.
[297] Thursday 26 August 2010: Donnie is writing me a postcard on the ferry back to the mainland.
[298] Friday 27 August 2010: We stopped at the Pink Cadillac Diner somewhere in Virginia which was all kinds of cheese. Donnie snapped this picture of the washrooms.
[299] Saturday 28 August 2010: Our last stop was Asheville, NC where we walked around, ate food and spent money on beautiful things. We watched this guy for about an hour as he crafted some cider glasses out of Pyrex.
[300] Sunday 29 August 2010: Donnie holds up his new art that was one of the many wedding presents that arrived while we were gone. This picture was taken at home in Decatur, GA.

A Photo A Day Week 42: Wedding Edition!

We're back! Our wedding week/honeymoon roadtrip/general vacation and fun time with everyone we love was a huge success and we are so grateful to all of the people who made the trip, helped out with some element of the ceremony or reception and generally made our celebration kickass. We're also really feeling the love from all of the people in Atlanta, Chiang Mai and other places who couldn't be there but have sent us well wishes.

I don't have a ton of wedding pictures but I did take heaps of photos. They'll likely make it to facebook in the next month or two but in the meantime the photo a day continues.

[287] Monday 16 August 2010: Our first stop on the way up north was at Mammoth Caves in Kentucky where we saw some pretty cool stalactites.

[288] Tuesday 17 August 2010: Jamie loves this picture of himself. We were toasting my dad's new job and awaiting Donnie's side of the family for dinner. Jamie decided to sing opera?
[289] Wednesday 18 August 2010: We introduced Donnie to fish and chips Canadian style on our first night in-country.
[290] Thursday 19 August 2010: Henna! Jen and Julie hosted a wonderful party filled with delicious food, heartfelt readings and a crazy Indian henna artist, Panina. Also a surprise afghan that I love love love.
[291] Friday 20 August 2010: My beautiful cousin Nicole and aunt Tracy!

[292] Saturday 21 August 2010: This is my favourite shot from my camera on our wedding day. Granted there aren't that many, because I didn't know where my camera was for most of the day. The boys helped Roger take some killer shots and they looked good doing it.
[293] Sunday 22 August 2010: Husband and Wife! For just under 24 hours in this picture. We stopped by Niagara Falls on the start of our roadtrip and it was mostly mistly but still stunning.

[282] Wednesday 11 August 2010: Parent night! One of the parents in my class is starting an organic buying club at school. Awesome!
[283] Thursday 12 August: I made everyone at our staff luncheon give me the thumbs up and then I took their pictures. Alicia and Rachel are cute.
[284] Friday 13 August 2010: We went to The Yogurt Tap with David, Sarah, Jackson and Noah. Jackson enjoyed his Yogurt.
[285] Saturday 14 August 2010: We had Travis, Anthony and Laura over for dinner and I made peach cobbler. [286] Sunday 15 August 2010: After checking into our Cave City, KY hotel we shopped at the finest pharmacy the town had to offer. D started on his wedding demands when he found this sign.

A Photo A Day Week 40

[273] Monday 2 August 2010: The two books I'm reading; the first one's from Laura and the second one's from Colin.
[274] Tuesday 3 August 2010: We went to see the ATL Collective run through Paul Simon's Graceland. It was pretty amazing.

[275] Wednesday 4 August: While my Dad was farther North celebrating his birthday I spent some time with rescue Annie.

[276] Thursday 5 August 2010: Helen, Robin and Alicia prepared a beautiful tablescape for our first day of teacher training. It was very inviting.
[277] Friday 6 August 2010: After David Berkeley's last concert in Atlanta we went to the Brickstore with our new friends Tom and Jamie. Mmmm, beer.
[278] Saturday 7 August 2010: The choir threw us a wonderful heartwarming shower where we opened presents with Sophia.
[279] Sunday 8 August 2010: Tom and Jamie came over for pizza and a viewing of Company, the best musical about getting married (or not getting married) I've ever seen.
